Kentucky DeMolay Road Runner Program
Kentucky DeMolay
Road Runner Program Rules

An exciting program is being returned to Kentucky DeMolay this term! Visiting another chapter is one of the best things that a DeMolay can do in order to gain more from his experience in our Order. Traveling to other chapters will help you not only help you look at the ways that your Brothers perform their business, but also help foster brotherhood and friendship among your fellow DeMolays all over the state. Get out there and collect some road runners!

The following are rules that the Kentucky DeMolay Road Runner Program will follow.

  1. All chapters begin with 1 Road Runner.
  2. A visiting chapter must bring at least 3 Active DeMolays as well as least 1 Advisor with them in order to collect a Road Runner.
  3. The Road Runner Program will select a winner in Jabez, KY on Annual Conclave 2012
  4. The award will be determined by the total number of Road Runners collected by a chapter, the number of miles traveled by a chapter, and the total number of points collected by a chapter.
  5. Road Runners may only be claimed on a regular stated meeting night, a chapter installation, or during assisted degree work.
  6. A chapter may only collect one Road Runner per visit.
  7. A Road Runner collection report should be sent to the State Master Councilor within a week of the visit. You can fill one out on this website. Look in the links above for the form.
  8. If two chapters visit a chapter that has only one Road Runner, the visiting chapter that brought the most DeMolays will receive the Road Runner. If they tie, then the chapter with the most advisors will receive the Road Runner. If they still tie, then the chapter that has traveled the furthest will receive the Road Runner.
  9. If two or more chapters visit a chapter that has two or more Road Runners, the visiting chapter that brought the most DeMolays will receive a Road Runner. If they tie, then the chapter with the most advisors will receive a Road Runner. If they still tie, then the chapter that has traveled the furthest will receive a Road Runner. All visiting chapters will be given the right to claim a Road Runner, up to the number of Road Runners held by the chapter being visited.
  10. A chapter that changes their meeting night or closes the Chapter in order to visit another chapter cannot collect a Road Runner. This is to prevent a chapter that may be performing a surprise visit to show up to an empty chapter.
Any questions concerning the rules of the Road Runner program should be directed to the State Master Councilor.

Here is how the points system will work for the Road Runner program:
  1. Visiting a chapter that is further than 100 miles and collecting a Road Runner will award 50 points.
  2. Visiting a chapter that is further than 100 miles and not collecting a Road Runner will award 20 points.
  3. Visiting a chapter that is less than 100 miles and collecting a Road Runner will award 10 points.
  4. Visiting a chapter that is less than 100 miles and not collecting a Road Runner will award 5 points.
